EL CONQUISTAD’Or x DOUGLAS ELLIOTT

“From the trees that honor us with carbon and oxygen that allow us to float through different paths in this ride called life; Imbued with beautiful creatures that emerge from the darkness of the fountains of hydration as a fortress mirroring the sky, deep crystallized rocks with sparkling mineral power that sculpt and enlighten a transcendental Highve path.”

Oh Baba Ifá

Skateboard deck that I started sketching it out back in 2009, 2010 in Brooklyn, NY.

In 2018, I decided to work again on it and burned the wood carving the outlines with pyrography pen.

In 2020 I met Douglas Elliot, an exquisite jeweler designer, that open my eyes for so many new paths and forms of thinking after a 101 class of diamonds.

I decided to finish the deck and finishing painting the deck with acrylic, spray paint, silver and 23k gold leaf sheets and red vinyl sheets to the board.

in 2022, I went to Douglas and asked him if would be cool to plate the wheels and screws with gold and add some diamonds in the elements of the painting.

He’s words: “ Are you crazy to put diamonds in a piece of wood?, Wait! It never be done, Let’s fucking do it.” - Douglas Elliot

The result is this magical collectable item full of custom pieces and hand designed and thought by both of us.
